In February 2019, the association started the Women of MSC/MAPC group to help empower and enrich the women who work for our contractor members and associate members. Throughout the year, our women get together to network, share their experiences, empower each other, give back to the community, and educate the next generation of girls to the amazing careers available in the trades. In November 2019, 14 women came together over two weekends to partner with Habitat for Humanity Dane County and build homes. In February 2020, seven brave women took the plunge to support Special Olympics Wisconsin at the annual Polar Plunge Madison. The Women of MSC/MAPC plan on participating in a cancer walk in honor of one of their own, and in support of everyone who is, or has, fought this deadly disease.

National Affiliates
As an association representing unionized plumbing, sheet metal, and steamfitting contractors throughout Madison and surrounding counties, Madison Area Mechanical & Sheet Metal Contractors Association (MSC) and Madison Association of Plumbing Contractors (MAPC) encourages its member companies to embrace diversity and inclusion, and openly welcome all employees, applicants, and interested parties regardless of their race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, genetic information, marital status, arrest or conviction record, membership in the armed forces, or because they are an individual with a disability or a person 40 years old or older. Racism has no place in the construction industry and we stand united with those fighting to end discrimination.
